Philippians 1:6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.
Happy New Year! The beginning of a new year always brings the opportunity for a fresh start. I would be willing to bet that almost everyone sees things they would like to adjust in their lives. And most people take the beginning of the new year to implement those changes. We call them “resolutions”.
Some common resolutions are-
Lose 20 pounds. Get out of debt. Exercise more. Spend more family time. Read the Bible more. Go on a really cool vacation. Be a better ME! All these resolutions are designed to help you become the best you, you can be.
The problem is, for the most part, although we may start off gung-ho, ready to take on the world on January 1st, usually by the 15th some of our enthusiasm has worn off and by the 30th we have fallen off the resolution wagon! (if not before)
The good news for us is that the One who created us, never falls off the resolution wagon. Today’s verse says He who began a good work in us develops it, perfects it and brings it into completion in us. That means when He is done with us, there is nothing lacking, missing or broken in our lives.
Isn’t is great to know that He is faithful? Be encouraged today that He will never give up on you!
