3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.
The last part of this verse says, your vision will surely come to pass, it will not tarry. This is somewhat confusing when the line before says though it tarries wait for it. How is that possible?
My sweet cousin Anna is a beautiful illustration of what this verse means. You can read her full story here, but in a nut shell…. She and her husband tried to conceive a child for several years. During that time they experienced both hope and disappointment, joy and pain, anticipation and wondering if they were ever going to see their promise come to pass. I cannot imagine the emotions of being happy for friends and family who were having children, while at the same time longing for that to be you.
Anna and her husband allowed the waiting place to become a training place. Rather than focus on what they were waiting for, they instead put all of their focus on the Lord. They delighted in Him, and let Him work in their hearts. (One day soon Anna will guest blog and tell you her story in her own words. It is beautiful and I know it will bless and encourage you.)
Tomorrow their darling little girl will be six months old. She is the joy of their life, and you can see why!
Before their precious daughter showed up anna and John had to wait for a season, but that glorious day they held their baby girl in their arms, the waiting stopped. There was no more tarrying, no more wondering when the appointed time would be. Just the fulfillment of the God given dream that was on the inside of them.
When the vision comes to pass, the tarrying stops, the celebrating begins and the memory of the waiting place fades away. The season of waiting may not ever be completely forgotten, but the joy of the fulfilled promise overtakes the pain.
Psalm 30:5 promises us ……Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning. If you are still waiting for your vision to come to pass be encouraged. Your sorrow will be turned to joy, and the morning is closer than you think!
P.S- I felt compelled to say if you are struggling with infertility I would like to specifically pray for you today. Please send me an email- firstname.lastname@example.org or leave comment if you feel comfortable doing so. I believe God will comfort your heart and give you the strength to endure this waiting place and I would love to believe with you for the fulfillment of the desire of your heart.
