The Best Gift

 

This is my favorite piece of jewelry.

It’s not fancy like this

Or Tiffany like this

Or sparkly like these

But it is my favorite.

Because this little guy

Went shopping all by himself and picked it out especially for me. He wanted me to have this particular necklace because it’s a locket and has room for a picture of him and one of me. So we will always be together! Such a sweetie!

Unfortunately, today when I was going to wear this most beautiful piece of jewelry, I opened it up to show the kids where the pictures would go…. and you guessed it, it broke in two pieces. I guess that’s what’s to be expected of a $1 necklace!

I did hear a little rumor that Daddy would be taking my little guy shopping for a fancy necklace he could give me for Valentines Day. But no matter how nice it may be, it won’t compare to the sweet little blue locket, or to the even sweeter little boy who gave it to me.

James 1:17 says ¹⁷ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

I am very blessed to have not one, but three good and perfect gifts and am thankful most of all to the One who gave them to me!
