90 Day Challenge Day 17- Joshua 15:1- Judges 3:27
Joshua 23:14 14And behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth. Know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one thing of them has failed.
When I read this verse today it made me stop and think. Joshua had led the children of Israel into the land that God had promised them. That land had been divided between the tribes, and each tribe went to live in their own cities. When Joshua was getting ready to die, he gathered the people before him and began to tell them to be strong and courageous and carry on in his absence. He also encouraged them to continue to follow the law of the Lord. To continue to walk in His commandments. Then he said, in verse 14 Know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one thing of them has failed.
How wonderful is that? Everything that God had promised them came to pass, not one single promise was lacking in their lives. Think about all they had to go through to receive their promise. The nation as a whole wandered around for 40 years in a desert. They had to fight impossible battles. They lost all of the original people due to acts of disobedience. Their first leader died and another was put in his place to lead them into their promised land, and now he is dying as well. In the midst of the 40 years it might not have looked as though anything they had been told was going to happen. They may have questioned whether or not, Moses had even heard from God in the first place. They may have wondered where there next provision was going to come from. They may have wondered how their next battle was going to be won. They probably seriously questioned whether they would ever see their promised inheritance. BUT when it was all said and done, in the end they had everything God said they would have.
Maybe you feel as though you are walking in a desert, maybe you are facing impossible obstacles, maybe you are trying to figure out where your next provision is going to come from. Be strong and be courageous. Even if it doesn’t look like it at this moment, every promise from God that you have been given will come to pass. The same covenant God had with the people of Israel, he has with us today. One day you will look back and realize that not one thing has failed. This brings new meaning to Galatians6:9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
Don’t give up. Even if you are not seeing your promises come to pass right now, hold on to them, continue to follow God and you will reap your harvest.
